DURHAM SCHOOL SERVICES IN TOPEKA RECEIVES GOLDEN MERIT AWARD

The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) awarded Durham School Services Topeka, KS facility the Golden Merit Award for its accident-free performance in safe student transportation.  Area general manager, Wayne Colwell, accepted the award on behalf of his team.

“This team’s record in providing safe student transportation is what we are all about as a company, “

said Bob Ramsdell, chief operating officer.  “This very significant accomplishment requires commitment from every member of the team.  It is also indicative of their successful teamwork and quality service.”

In addition to their accident-free record, Durham’s Topeka team also gives back to their local community.  One of the many examples of their work in the community is the support they provide to the Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt.  For the last nine years the team has participated in this event by donating transportation services to the Governor’s mansion for Topeka residents.  Durham employees also volunteer at the event.

“I am confident when I say that the performance at the Topeka facility embodies everything the Golden Merit Award recognizes: achievements in safe operations, exceptional service delivery to customers, a strong commitment to employees and communities, and overall excellence in providing safe and reliable student transportation services,”  continued Ramsdell.

NSTA’s Golden Merit Award was established in 1969 to recognize school bus employees for their achievements in safety, driver training, business practice, vehicle maintenance and superior service to their school district, community and the student transportation industry.
