WARRENVILLE, Ill.—Durham School Services, a leading provider of student transportation in North America, has successfully begun providing student transportation services for the Hinds County School District in Raymond, Miss.
School started for Hinds County students on August 11, and Durham was prepared with 105 brand new buses, equipped with air conditioning, global positioning systems, multi-head video cameras and electronic reminder devices designed to ensure children are not left unattended on the bus. The new safety standards and equipment proposed by Durham were a large factor in the school district’s decision to switch to Durham from their previous student transportation provider. District Superintendent Dr. Stephen Handley notes that “Hinds County is extremely pleased with the improved transportation services and cost savings that Durham has brought to our school district. As a rural school district with very long bus routes, our parents and community are very excited about the new fleet which provides our students with buses that are safe, air-conditioned and fuel efficient.”
“Durham School Services is proud to partner with the Hinds County School District and is pleased with the smooth transition to our services,” said Region Vice President David Brabender of Durham School Services. “We look forward to being a part of the Hinds County community for many years.”
