Pride the Safety Dog with Durham School Services waves to drivers outside of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Green Mound Commons in Belleville. Durham employees and family members were collecting donations of food, toys, school supplies, clothes and shoes for students ages 3 through 14. |
WARRENVILLE, ILL. – Durham School Services, a leader in student transportation, recently held holiday “Stuff the Bus” events on Nov. 25 and Dec. 3, collecting more than 400 toy, clothing, and food items for students ages 3 to 14 in Belleville School District 118 in Belleville, Ill.
“We would like to thank all the residents and businesses who generously supported this holiday drive,” said Juanita Ferguson, general manager of Durham’s Belleville customer service center. “Times are tough, and we are glad to be able to help the students in our community, especially during the holidays.”
“Belleville District #118 is grateful to Durham School Services, its employees, and our community for working together to help make Christmas wishes come true for our students in need,” said Melissa Taylor, Director of Special Education for District #118.
Durham School Services has been providing special needs transportation for Belleville School District 118 for eight years. This year’s “Stuff the Bus” events were organized as part of the company’s Adopt-a-School program, which encourages employees to volunteer and make a difference in the communities and schools they serve. The Adopt-a-School Program supports one of Durham School Service’s primary values of serving the community by advancing the social, environmental and economic conditions in the areas in which it operates.
