Lisle, Ill - The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) recognized Durham School Services’s Casa Grande, AZ, shop with the Green School Bus Fleet certification in the gold category. The certification program has been endorsed by the U.S. Enviornmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus USA program and is the only green fleet certification available in the school bus industry. NSTA recognizes operators for the steps they have taken to reduce emissions and make a positive enviromental impact. “We understand that even small adjustments to our operations can have a substantial positive impact on the environment,” said Tony Mancini, regional manager for Durham. “We are doing our part through programs, such as idle reduction and fuel conservation.” “It is my pleasure to recognize this group for their work towards a cleaner environment,” said Todd Monteferrario, former NSTA president. “We have a long tradition of honoring those who have made valuable contributions to our industry, the students we transport and to the communities we serve.” Celebrating its centennial year, Durham transports students across the U.S. every day. The four Durham locations were awarded with Green School Bus Fleet certification - Racine, WI, Casa Grande, AZ, Rosemead, CA and Waterbury, CT. The Casa Grande location has two maintenance team members, 43 buses and provides service for Casa Grande Union High school District 82.
